Growth of PlayPass
At the beginning of February we organised our first team retreat at a remote location from the office. Due to the big growth of our company, the goal was to pass on the "Passion" to provide an excellent service through teamwork being part of the PlayPass DNA to the new team members. And as you can see on the picture the right energy was present !!!
The growth of PlayPass has been fuelled through the recent acquisition of the French Cashless provider Yuflow and we welcome their team to the PlayPass family, including co-founders Martin Rigot-Muller and Jean-Alexandre Janoray who will remain at the helm. This acquisition gives us a major presence in France and Switzerland, two key markets in our global expansion strategy. For more information on this, click here.
Customer Success department
In our commitment to offering the most complete solutions in the market, we have installed a new back-office Customer Success team that will provide an extra layer of support for our clients and their visitors, as well as assisting our project managers out in the field to ensure an exceptional level of service and coverage during our busiest times in the season. This department has been created by Joris De Cnop, who was one of our first employees starting in 2012. Our customer success team will service customers in their mother language. All clients will be introduced to this team in the initial project kick-off meeting or call.
Best Festival Technology Provider Award
We were honoured to receive the award for Best Festival Technology Provider at the Festival Supplier Awards in London on 31 January, for our Cashless deliveries at a number of UK festivals last summer. The judging panel noted that our “services and systems are so much more than cashless wrist banding — they improve the overall customer experience and make sustainability initiatives more engaging and easier to implement.”
PlayPass UK — New Appointments
UK being one of PlayPass' primary focus markets, we have been investing in strengthening the team. Steve Jenner who joined PlayPass already in 2015, will take the lead and has been promoted to UK Managing Director. We will continue to expand our local sales and operations teams to develop the UK as a key market. We are also delighted to welcome Ben Hirons to the UK team who joins as lead Project Manager. Ben has extensive operational experience in the event service industry, including festivals and bar operations. Last but not least Douglas Muir is reinforcing our technical operational team.
In our partner approach we are happy to announce that after a successful first summer in Finland, Helppari became an official license partner of PlayPass and will fully represent PlayPass in Finland. To reinforce our local presence we will announce a strong partnership with Finnish OP Bank and Checkout Finland in the coming weeks.
New system features coming up
We have some exciting new features coming up for the summer season that fits in our strategy to focus on increasing the fan experience not only during, but also before and after the event. Come and hear more about it during ILMC where Steve Jenner will host a panel about PlayPass' latest revenue-boosting innovations on the New Technology panel ( 7th March: The International Live Music Conference (ILMC), London - 2.00pm)
Following our successful co-operation with Belgian major soccer club RSC Anderlecht, we will start a dedicated PlayPass Sports division. We are proud to be a part of their full digital transformation, take a moment to watch the following video.
